Megarensis, corpore brevi, sed valido, et vegeto, homuncio, ac tibicen, tantae fuisle voracitatis dicitur, ut siliginei quidem panis canistros 6. carnium vero 20. librarum pondo solus facile devoratet, ac vini congios 2. biberet. Ceterum tubis simul duabus adeo violenter uti solitum tradunt, ut quam latissime illarum sonus exaudiretur. Feruntqueve aliquando, cum Demetrii milites, eius scilicet, qui Urbivum Expugnator est cognominatus, maximam illius machinam, quam Helepolim vocabant, in Argivae urbis oppugnatione, ob immensam ponderis gravitatem, muris applicate non poslent, violento, terribiliqueve huius duarum tubarum sono excitatos, ac velut adiutos praeter omnem spem, machinam illam, quam prius admovere non poterant, urbi haud magna cum re admovisse, illamqueve viexpugnasse.
